I laughed so hard at this one and now I’m wondering who in our office made this graph. Our IT dept staff are well-known as rabid scavengers and cheapskates (except for one awesome guy). Maybe it’s that way everywhere?
Yes. IT guys are mooches and sleazebags. Except for one guy. In all offices.
I am NOT a mooch or a sleaze bag.
I’m also not a cheapskate by choice.
However, I will accept the title of rabid scavenger.
Really? Sweet! I about to fact-check that myself, but thanks to your post, now I don’t have to!
No, he’s a cheapskate and a scavenger too. He just wants something else. Or he’s new to the field.
We’re all like that. Hence the existence and proliferation of BitTorrent.
“What? You want us to PAY for something? Phah….!”
Can you actually have 2 different x-axes?
Obviously you can.
Aren’t those y-axes?
they are, and you can
It’s totally every office. Every department has a snitch (that’s me in our dept) who tells the IT guys where the food is. It also doesn’t help that their dept office is right next to the break room/cafeteria.
The thing is that since they know someone in every office they know where all the food in every office is, and in every building – plus occasionally you’ll find them trading information for home computer fixes (even so as to get an upperhand against the other IT guys!
Originality FTW!
Sarcasm FTL?
For the Alliance!
This is really funny! Damn that IT department!
But Im in IT and I never get free food! Am I missing something?
Your balls may not be as magical as you think.
Wasn’t that in an episode of the office? or am I just imagining it….. something about pretzels…
You’re just imagining it. There’s only one episode with an IT guy, and Michael thinks he’s a terrorist and tries to lock him out.
Although there is also an episode where they stand in a ridiculously long line to get free pretzels.
yeah that’s what I’m thinking of
Yeah, this pretty much covers it. People in my office have gotten hurt, there’s a bottleneck of filing cabinets between the newsroom and the break room. D:
The majority of people don’t work in offices. Appeal fail.
Really? Where do they work?
In the US, at least, manufacturing is gone – service/retail? I can’t believe that’s actually > 50% of jobs out there….
I work in a service/retail type thing andthis *still* goes on lol. Only at my work, the girls who run the front desk usually tell us about the free food and we all have to beat Andrew, our main stocker, to it because he has a sixth sense when it comes to free food. And a ginormous appetite.
heh, ah.. all too accurate over here. We usually get to the chow first everytime. Partly because the kitchen is closer to us then any other dept. and partly because our receptionist tells us first.
In this office, it’s sales.
We get lunch for free everyday, but sales is usually in line five minutes early and going back for seconds before many of us have had firsts. We also have a nice huge cooler in the break room and I’ve seen sales guys go shopping in there, grabbing food like there’s no tomorrow.
It’s a little annoying when you work late and all that’s left is a single sugar free vanilla pudding cup and a container of celery.
Mooches. They all make more than we do, too.
This is pretty much true. I’m in IT and we’re fortunate enough to be right next to the large multi-purpose room. We’re usually the first to know when there is left-overs. Doesn’t hurt to have friends in the department that cleans up the room for the next meeting.
