“Reasons” does not require an apostrophe.

    Fail.

    • amy k says:

I was just about to leave the same comment! A+ for grammar police!

    • Bunny says:

      Agreed!!

    • James says:

      You’r gramma’r suck’s!
I like how everyone has commented on it. :)

      • bucket says:

You did it wrong you’re self!

      • grammer? says:

who cares about grammar, it is the internet not an important document. if you understood what he meant there is no need to correct it because the whole point of communication is to convey and idea or thought, and it was obviously conveyed since you knew to correct it. i bet you feel very high and mighty and better then everyone else because you have corrected someone who will most likely never even see your correction. it is a silly blog, not anything of importance so get over yourselves. oh, and i know that the first letter in a sentence is capitalized but i dont care because you still get the message. if you want to correct peoples grammar and spelling become a teacher and keep your corrections to the classroom.

    • Joey Y says:

This dis-apostrophe hurt me physically. Ow, my eye!

(This message has been confirmed to be 100% free of apostrophes, apart from the word “apostrophe”, of which there are three…)

      • ThyGoblinking says:

But there ARE three commas which are basically lazy apostrophes.

A-post trophies! The new reward for an epic win!

    • Teech says:

I teach English, but somehow don’t feel the need to belittle others for online grammar or punctuation miscues. I am compelled, however, to point out that those who do feel such a need have some self-esteem issues that ought to be addressed.

      • Freddie says:

Of course you don’t Teech. You can’t go around proving how crappy education is in this country, or you’d get branded by your fellow teachers as a traitor. The rest of us have to do the job you’re too cowardly to do.

Apostrophe abuse should be smacked down wherever it occurs. Otherwise, it will never stop. Remember, evil can only flourish when good men do nothing. Oh, and people who accuse others of having self-esteem issues obviously have low self-esteem themselves. (That was a joke, in case you’re too dumb to figure it out. You are a teacher, after all.)

      • 216 says:

Yeah! What he said. Shut up and teach – Teech!

      • x-bert says:

I didn’t belittle, I merely pointed out that they had misused an apostrophe and thereby made this graph suck.

        • grammer? says:

the graph sucks for other reasons, not the apostrophe error, and you suck for caring about someone’s grammar who you do not know. language is not a stagnant thing, maybe he is from the future where apostrophes have different uses, did you ever think of that smart one???

    • josh says:

has embarrassing typo: 0% on x axis.
      lol

  2. Kezzi says:

…Or because you need to go back to school and retake Basic Grammar. xD

  3. Awesome says:

    I’t i’s no’t tha’t har’d t’o kno’w whe’n t’o pu’t a’n apostroph’e.

    • grammer? says:

its also not hard to not care. it is a blog. i say you should learn to enjoy the mistakes of others without pointint them out, i mean if its that obvious to you that there is a mistake, then it is pretty friggin obvious. what do you want, a cookie?

  4. BOULDASAUR says:

I think you should stop making graph’s because you don’t know where apostrophe’s belong’.

  5. Scot Z says:

Eye sea all the poster’s hear are ragging the poster about his incorrect usage of apostrophe’s. Chill out their, your all to anal about such thing’s.

  6. MEH. says:

  7. GrammarBitz says:

  8. panda says:

You forgot a reason: “Ignorance of proper apostophe usage.”

  9. panda says:

    “apostrophe”

crap. i knew that would happen!

  10. well says:

I would like to point everyone’s attention to this blog post which addresses the matter of people who feel compelled to belittle their compatriots for poor use of grammar:
    http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/05/12/99-grammar/

I would also like to raise the issue that one click away cats get away with the poorest grammar ever, everyone lols about it, and you guys here are seriously correcting an apostrophe mistake. RELAX. Srsly.

  11. On behalf of the grammar police, I am here to issue a warning. Don’t let it happen again. You could get a ticket.

  12. Bob says:

Maybe the graph’s creator was referring to a person whose name is “Reason”, at which point it is an awkward grammar fail, which isn’t quite as deplorable as an apostrophe phail.

  13. DexterSinister says:

I just find it amazing that everybody so far abhors a single misplaced apostrophe as much as nature a vacuum, while still using “fail” and even “phail” instead of “failure”. Is that grammatical now, and I missed it?
To be honest, I like this graph, even with the grammatical mistake.

  14. boucqet says:

I was wondering… I’m new to this site and there’s Graphs on the main page, and Graphs on the ‘Vote’ page. But none on both of them. How is decided which come here and get all the big attention? Is that random, or is that the site owner who maeks those?

  15. ina badmood says:

I am extremely disappointed with all the grammatical police there are out there. I very much enjoyed the graph and was able to look past the grade school mistake. Being that there are way to many posts here to comment on and each one deserves it’s own little blurb……

–ha ha you said anal and you suck

    Anomaly
I’m with Scot Z on this. Judge the graphs based on their content, don’t go around dissing them based on apostrophe misuse or “spell-check fail” – look past that, and see whether the actual meat of the graph is funny or not.

    –meat judgers suck

    katillac
Understanding Scot Z’s sarcasm fail. I hope that you aren’t a teacher, as your sentence structure sucks.

–understanding anything from scot – fail. you suck
