Well, bathrooms ARE more useful.
But in an outhouse you can watch the bad moon rise whilst enjoying baboons on rice.
I just thought that the bad moon was on the RIGHT.
Seconded.
Thirded…
Fourthed.
When i was a real young’un, I thought it was “A black moon on the right”
C’mon, that’s not even the hardest song to interpret. What about “Down on the Corner”????
what, the “you don’t need a pinhead just to hang around” or the “willie and the butt boys are playing?” Those are just the ones I hear…
ccr is THE band for misheard lyrics, isn’t it?
WOW! In the above video, the second-to-last bad moon line really DOES sound like “bathroom on the right!”
Ha, I agree!
Totally concur with the above statements
I even went to the extent of listening to that section again and again.
If he’s not saying “Bathroom on the Right” I don’t know what he is.
It’s possible he actually sang it that way in the vid. Fogerty’s been known to do that now and then.
yeah i was about to say the same thing.
He does sing it that way live. I saw him back in November of ‘07, and he sang it that way for one of the repeats.
I LOLd at the third one. That’s an interpretation I’ve never heard/read before.
Are you quite prepared to dine?
in hell?
Is that a formal invitation, and will John Fogerty be there?
John Fogarty sometimes sings the bathroom line on purpose.
Don’t go ’round tonight,
it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a baboon
on her eye! D:
hehe…I like that one Koern…
LMAO at the last interpretation: baboon on the rice. Oh my.
More like “baboon on the right.” Perhaps he works at a zoo…
Ooookay…. how long before we see graphs for “stuck in an old diaphragm” or “I have no fortune in Guam”?
Oh, thank God I’m not the only one who heard “bathroom on the right”. Until last year (I’m 25), I really did think those were the lyrics. :/ Fail = me.
For most of my life I thought it was bathroom on the right. For years after I thought I was the only one who thought that. Until I got a calendar that had misheard lyrics and that was one of them!
you would think that since the song is called “Bad Moon Rising” that people would figure out that he’s not saying bathroom.
There is a Baboon on the right ROTFL.
Around 20 yrs. ago ( our daughter was 5 then ) we were driving in the country, when she announced she had to go “potty”, so we started to look for a place for her. ” Is that a restaurant on the right ? No. Is that a gas station on the left ? No” Finally she chirped out…” MOM… The guy on the radio said there’s a bathroom on the right ” My husband and I both looked at each other and almost pee-ed our pants, laughing !
Just like the song “Have you ever seen the rain?”
I thought it said “Ton poteau est long et gros”.
Which means in English “Your pole is long and big”.
