  1. NoThanks says:

I wanted to see the interview with the guy that inverted his elbow. WTF?

  2. Lila says:

As I got to this page, guess what came on the tv… an interview about Michael Phelps :-)

  3. waren says:

the guy he inverted his elbow… eehh it didnt look good, actually he was from my country :S

  4. Beth says:

I read “invented” first. I was seriously confused how someone invented the elbow. :P

  5. dogstarrb says:

You forgot “talking about the 10 year old Chinese gymnasts.” I’m sure that took up a measurable portion of the interviews, though it certainly has nothing on Micheal Phelps.

  6. SQFreak says:

What about Usain Bolt? Usain Bolt is really ridiculous.

    • canadian says:

Usain Bolt is the fastest man alive. Two times over. Don’t tell me Americans didn’t hear about that because they were too busy covering their own team.

      • chez says:

fail. i watch the news (not just the lolnews) and no we’re not too busy. douchebag.

      • Raef says:

I heard about Usain Bolt, but that’s only because I watched the Olympics with a lot of regularity – many hours a day and all. Also because his name is KICKASS for being a runner.

  7. Silver says:

i´m glad that i don´t watch anything about the olympic games…

but i think in german tv are no interviews with michael whatever…

  8. Bloobeard says:

    Michael who?

  9. Sunbunny says:

“So, Jason Lezak, you just came from way way way behind and magically out-touched the French team in a heart-stopping, defining moment of your young life. How does this help Michael?”

    • Raef says:

Yeah the 4×100 pissed me off to no end :/ I feel bad for Michael though, he WAS trying to get people to pay attention to the other team members. Now the media is making him look like an egotistical bastard by only talking about him. Give the kid a break, he’s 22, let him have some space.

      • ClickClick says:

I think the media cover him so much because 1) he IS an amazing athlete, 2) the media constantly re-discovers in talking to him that he’s a nice guy and 3) he’s an amazing athlete and 4) he cares for his team mates. Not necessarily in that order.

I wouldn’t myself assume the media is making him look bad just by over covering him. I WOULD agree that it’s time for the media to back off and give him some space.

        Don’t worry. Be happy.

  10. Nacey says:

This is why I like coming from Australia. On our TV it’s all about the athlete’s stories from all over the world (When they’re not wanking on about our athletes of course, which, thankfully, there’s not that many of them and they didn’t win THAT many medals so there isn’t much to obsess about). Because they’re all sore about Phelps winning all the swimming medals, it’s like “Michael who?” Hahaha.

  11. Pops says:

This graph is highly significant because so far it’s engendered the least vitriolic comment thread in the history of the site! Imagine, people being decent to each other on the internets! ;-D

  12. Disser says:

Yes, most people are interviewing him about the crack he smoked.
