Hm. As an actual Dungeon Master, I resent the comparison. At least we revel in fantasies that we can’t actually live out in real life. A game about fictional events is one thing, but a game about a game is taking it too far.

You, sir, are absolutely correct. Never have, never will. If I wanted a job in RPGs, I would hold out for one that 1. allows me to create original content and 2. pays me large amounts of money instead of the other way around.
What about a game about a game about a game? In your next adventure why not have the PCs participate in a fantasy Blood Bowl league? Hmmm… would that just be toooo nerdy?

This is SUCH a stupid graph! I am a DM and I hate football! In fct, most of us are ok with DnD, and don’t play “fantasy football”! Sports and Nerdiness should NO interfere with each other! I resent the connection!
When you turn eighteen, you might find your opinions about football changing. It’s happened to lots of DMs I know.

Yeah, DMs are cool. Fantasy football players… are less so.
The true dirty secret of fantasy sports is that the people who play work on their teams while at the office. There’s very little overlap between DMs and fantasy sports commissioners. I’m a DM and I’ve never even played in a fantasy sports league, even though I’m a sports fan. They’re two very different modes of fantasy.
This one needs a Venn diagram that has fantasy football commissioners at the intersection of People Who Goof Off at Work, Office Workers with PCs, and Obsessive NFL Fans.
That is a good idea.

FF Commissioners are guys that used to make fun of DnD players for pretending to do something they never could do in real life.

I guess I’m in the minority. I’m a FF Commissioner, who is an NFL Fan, who has never played DND.
Unlike DND DM’s, I have also gotten laid…

Well, I thought it was really funny, and true to life in my case. DMing for 25+ years and commissioning fantasy leagues for 18. Believe it or not you can like both hobbies.
