Up north in the silicon valley, most of the Prius owners have them because they’re cool gadgets. That, and they like the fact that they’re very quiet. Better for listening to your iPod.

My ‘98 Corolla averages 33 mpg and cost me 3k so saving money WIN!

and though it may not be the best on emissions… you could say I recycle.

What does it matter, smug or not, if it is eventually helping environment?
So they occasionally go 80 mph. At least when they sitting on traffic (which is going to be 80% of their life) the green parts kick in.
