    His daughter is a location?

  2. Dapper Swindler says:

    Yeah.

    Geography / Biology Fail.

  3. Domian says:

I always wonder where that “Germany like Hasselhoff” thing comes from. Can someone tell me that please? I’m from germany and i never understood that.

    • Jami says:

Supposedly Hasselhoff is to Germany what Jerry Lewis is to France. Both have bigger fan bases over there. Especially, apparently Hasselhoff’s “singing.”

The difference here is, in America, we have way more respect for Jerry Lewis.

    • adskfjö says:

from what i know germany doesn’t like hasselhoff anymore than any other country, he just claims to be partly responsible for the reunion

  4. Kaiser says:

germans do not like hasselhof. as in pretty much any topic concerning foreign relations you guys are stuck in the ’90s where hasselhoff sang at the berlin wall to do his part in the process of “tearing down that wall”. nowadays hes just the same drunk ex-celebrety to us like he is to you.

  5. Oggy says:

Actually, while he only had 3 top ten hits in Germany, he had a better track record in Austria. The Germany thing was a skit from SNL’s Norm McDonnel, and later on Dodgeball (the movie)

  6. Kevin Z says:

Thank you Dapper for the correction. I love failblog and I cant help but laugh at myself!

I meant it in the sense that she friggin’ hates him (after the weird internet video of him flipping out; etc)

  7. Silver says:

NO ONE in germany likes david hasslehoff.
and everyone who thinks he has anything to do with the reunion needs some knowledge in european history…

  8. shfantz says:

Isn’t the bottom of the German flag yellow, not vomit-green?

  9. Dan says:

So if his daughter represents one person, he has like 5 fans in Canada, a dozen or so in America, and maybe a hundred fans in Germany. 100 out of Germany’s population of 82,217,800 (Thank you Wikipedia) puts his popularity levels there at a thousandth of a percent. Yeah, that seems right.

  10. Flartus says:

And what about Japan? I heard he commanded screaming mobs of female fans there.

  11. djritalin says:

The phrase “Germans love David Hasselhoff” was coined by comedian Norm MacDonald when he was the host of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live.

He would be discussing a news item, and then finish by stating, “Which once again proves my theory: Germans love David Hasselhoff.”

  12. Pressurechief says:

    Further evidence of geography/overgeneralization fail:
America technically includes both “north” and “south” American countries (i.e. Canada, Chile and Mexico should all be included with that term).

  13. stats_nerd says:

Venn diagram fail. This should be a bar chart.
