I think one was done before…….
Sure is empty in here… where is everyone?
Couldn’t find it… must have been thinking of the 3 people that understand math.
It was a Thinkgeek T-shirt.
AH… I thought i’d seen it before.. thanks.
This is as stupid as 5/4 people don’t understand fractions.
Nerd humour. You either get it or you don’t…
I’m not sure if you got it.
ouch binary burn…
i like the pi and i joke on snorg tees
This brings back painful memories of truth trees in logic101. This graph must die.
There are three kinds of people in this world. Those that understand math and those that don’t.
gee. never heard that one before
I love this. Ones and zeros, people.
I like the joke; heard it a few weeks ago sans graph. Problem with the graph is that it says that the members of each set are equal in number. Really?
Graph is only counting types, not quantity of each type.
In which case…how is a pie chart a logical choice to show this information?
a pie chart doesn’t show quantity, just relations. that’s how
although of course the relations aren’t clear by that sentence either.. but anyway
pedantic fail
Um…..what? Pie charts show relative quantities of either element in the domain. That’s the whole point. It’s not like 50% of the world understands binary.
There should be a lot less blue in that graph.
no there shouldn’t, “10″ is binary for “2″, there are only two choices of types of people given by the colors, so it makes perfect sense for there to be the same amount of blue as red.
No, that fact only indicates that there should be 2 options. The size of the slices of the pie indicate how large each group is relative to the other(s). In this case, the graph suggests that approximately 50% of the population understands binary. In doing so, this graph appears to display more information than the data source can provide.
Unfortunately, the one pie chart does not have the ability to reflect both sets of relationships: 1) two types of people and 2) the number representative of each group.
so overdone
It comes from a t-shirt at thinkgeek.com though I’m sure the joke predates that.
Yeah, it’s most popular from the tee.
Ha Ha Ha
There is no spoon.
See, I get it now!
It’s a Matrix joke.
um.. commenting on the wrong picture fail
There are 10 types of people:
Those that don’t understand ternary
Those that think this joke is funny
Those that want to punch me in the face
That’s 11 types.
Oh, balls.
I just had a Literacy Fail moment.
I prefer the 10 options to be:
Those that understand ternary
Those that don’t
Those that confuse it with binary.
There’s 11 kinds of people
Those that understands, binary, those who doesn’t and those that do but doesn’t nag about it.
OLD!
There are 100 different types of people in this world Those that understands, binary, those who doesn’t. those that do but doesn’t nag about it and loser like you who make comments saying OLD! jokes never get old
Do you know the difference between a hamburger and a blowjob.
(person answers no)
Wanna go to lunch
I was telling that at work and my boss says that dates back to when he was a kid, hes almsot 50 and the joke is still funny to day
Copying grammar fail and punctuation fail… fail
Should be: There are 100 different types of people in this world: Those that understand binary, those who don’t, those that do but don’t nag about it, and losers like you who make comments saying “OLD” jokes never get old.
It should be:
There are 100 different types of people in this world: Those that understand binary, those who don’t, those that do but don’t nag about it, and losers like you who make comments saying “OLD” about jokes. Jokes never get old.
GRAMMAR FAIL!!!
Should be: Those that understand binary, those who don’t, and those that do but don’t nag about it.
“Those that” should be “those who”.
Explanation: 10 is Binary for 2.
What about the other 0xF?
LOLing here! I love this graph and Eh’s comment is funny!
well…i dunno; where did the random 0×11 come from??
\=
There are two types of people in this world.
Those who understand grammar,
and those “that” don’t.
love this one…
::chuckle::
Ah, binary…
Hexadecimal is better than binary, soooooo much better.
