Jagger ‘can’t get no satisfaction’. That would seem to imply that he can get satisfaction.
It isn’t specified in the song, but ’some satisfaction’ is generally interpreted as a positive value, not a negative one, as indicated in the graph?
in English, especially in blues and other forms in which the vernacular is used, a double negative is not necessarily a positive. Hence, when Jagger sings “I can’t get no satisfaction” he means “I can’t get ANY satisfaction.” Thus, the negative value on the graph is correct.
Jon’s grammatical analysis is correct, however this graph actually indicates a negative level of satisfaction for Jagger. A single mark directly on the x-axis would indicate a complete lack of satisfaction.
There should be a value for “low” and a mark on the key for Lil Jon.
