That would be panthers or leopards. I believe lions are diurnal. Otherwise this song is about a narcoleptic lion who keeps passing out on his way to the village.
No, lions are nocturnal too. Not entirely, but none of the feline predators in Africa are really that active in the middle of the day. Most hunting is done at night, in the morning, and evening.
