  1. Nic says:

I wouldn’t be so sure about that first one… Check out all these hypocrites: http://deceiver.com/category/activists/peta-activists/

  2. Danyell says:

As a vegetarian, I find PETA extremely offensive. Considering they’re little more than eco-terrorists funded by celebrities whose pro-animal ads often sexually demean women.

    • david says:

eco-terrorists? when did that happen? they bombed something?

or maybe they did some sneaky terrorist stuff, like pay for layers to defend some ELF dudes.

also. sexually demeaning to women? don’t tell me you’re talking about the anti-fur ads. that would make me lol. what a lack of perspective that would be, whining about women voluntarily posing nude to raise awareness of the senseless cruelty that goes into producing fur. poor women, so exploited.

  3. JT says:

So 50% of PETA doesn’t eat meat, and 50% of PETA doesn’t impress you?

I don’t think a pie chart was the best choice.

  4. deABREU says:

    Lame

  5. Rosemarie says:

Regardless of the crap people dig up, PETA as a whole does a hell of a lot of great work.
It would be nice if the people that spend their time looking for negative crap used it to help animals instead.

    • JT says:

No, PETA is a discredited media whore that does very little to actually help animals.

    • gemdrake says:

Animal compassion is good. By all means I’m for it. But there are many times that they seem to value animals more than humans and human dignity. I don’t think you even have to look that up to know this, you should already! I don’t know about you but for me, when someone or a group such as PETA consistently endangers human lives over some animal species(endangered or not), then that draws the line! For me they have become animal worshippers, treating animals as if they are gods. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ? They should be renamed to Animals for the Unethical Treatment of People!

    • Jessi says:

‘PETA as a whole does a hell of a lot of great work’? I guess that includes euthanizing animals because they find it cruel to keep them as pets? I have to find the article so I can show you some proof and I don’t just look like I’m talking out my ass, but they euthanized a PREGNANT beagle and then proceeded to dispose of the body in a dumpster behind a grocery store (along with many other animals they’ve done this to) because they felt it wrong to keep as a pet.

PETA is a group of extremists that do for animal rights activists what the Taliban did for Islamists.

  6. Athanar says:

I like the theory behind PETA, trying to help animals and stuff. But I don’t like most of their methods… they’re extremists.

  7. becca says:

um..you all have it all wrong..PETA doesn’t mean People for the Ethical treatment of animals…it stands for People Eating Tasty Animals :-)

    • Joseph says:

Now this is a PETA I can stand behind!

    • Jessica says:

That is not funny in a comment, on a bumper stick and or on a shirt. Fail.

    • Thomas Sawyer says:

I’ve been around on this Interwebs thing so long, I remember when peta.com was owned by a guy who had a web site called “People Eating Tasty Animals”. Ah, the good old days. Unfortunately, I think PETA sued him to legally steal the address…

For the record, I love animals. But, I would never dream of even thinking of joining PETA. I don’t deal with assholes like that very well.

  8. YesI says:

I once had a college professor in an ethics class say that animal rights activists were coming to talk to us. I thought, “Great!” b/c I’m into not testing products on animals, research on animals, etc. Little did I know they were coming to convince us to go vegan. What I eat is nunya. I’m a total sucker for helping any one or any thing, but that totally made me blow my lid. I’m so easily sickened, and I hated being blind-sided by assholes showing me videos of animals being abused. They’re hate-mongers and no better than those people who were running around Cali blowing up SUVs a few summers ago. People don’t listen to violence. That’s why we’ve learned to stop spanking our kids, duh.

    • Relly says:

Don’t spank em? I’ll bet they steal your car, cuss at you, and come home when they feel like it too, huh?

    • Candice says:

I don’t understand how you can be upset by someone trying to educate you, and about an issue you claim to actually care about, no less. It’s not like they just made it all up, animals are being abused and killed so you can eat them – you not seeing it wouldn’t make it not true. It’s up to you to decide whether the suffering animals undergo is worth your enjoyment from eating meat, no one is forcing you to stop eating meat, and especially not with violence. The violence isn’t being done towards you, it’s being done towards the animals – if you find it so sickening maybe you should stop supporting the industry. Being vegan is really hard, but if you really believe that animal cruelty is so wrong that it makes you sick to your stomach when someone simply shows you a video about it, then maybe you should give vegetarianism a try, or at least do some research about it before making somewhat riduclous comparisions between passionate people trying to help and agents of vandalism or corporeal punishment. How is showing a group of (hopefully) intelligent, responsible adults a piece of potentially controversial media of in any way akin to physically abusing a small child?

      • Brandon_ha says:

I agree, i beleive this graph was in poor taste, personal opinions shouldn’t be displayed on what is for them most part a rather impartial and funny blog.

        • Jane says:

Actually, every single graph made on this site shows someone’s personal opinion. Just because you don’t agree with someone’s viewpoint doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to express it on a public forum.

      • bcdm says:

You win the internets for today.

        E-cookies for all!

      • gemdrake says:

I’m sorry for you for thinking that the value of a small child as the same as that of an animal. This is just sick. But hey, that’s your opinion! Also, PeTA does euthanasia, instead of convincing people not to eat meat which will never happen, maybe they should try to teach farmers how to “humanely euthanize” animals for consumption. But they won’t because their ego is on the line.

        • Candice says:

“I’m sorry for you for thinking that the value of a small child as the same as that of an animal. This is just sick.”

Are you addressing it to me or YesI? Because if it is addressed towards me, that is the opposite of what I was trying to say. Animal abuse is NOT the same as child abuse. But it is still an important issue, especially since people are so hypocritical about it – on both sides of the argument.

        • david says:

PETA has done work to legislate more humane ways of slaughtering animals.

          stupid.

  9. Thor Thorson says:

Why are people taking this so seriously? I think it’s funny!

  10. camilla says:

    Oh, please!
All it is is a funny pie chart. Give it a fricking rest.

If you wanna talk animal right, fine. But some of you have no idea what happens in the real world. Once I worked with labrats and mice. I sold theme to hospitals and doctors who are trying to cure us all of heartdiseises and so on.

But then one day some f**khead “animalright” people desided that what we were doing was wrong. So they BURND down some of the place. 2000 mice and rats. Burnt alive… Somehow they thought that was more humane….

Thank you very much, that is SO much better, isn´t it?

  11. aw says:

Hey Candice – being vegan isn’t hard at all! Everything tastes better when it is made from veggies (once you reprogram the old taste buds). I loved this chart – it made me laugh. Although it would have been better as a bar graph. Doesn’t: eat meat = 100%, impress me = 100%, consider impact on fellow humans = 100%, fanatasize everything – 0%

    :)

  12. mAlise says:

to the maker ov this graph: who cares whether or not PETA impresses you? yeah, they’re far from perfect, but at least they’re tryïng to do some good. what have YOU done today?

to danyell: if so-called ‘ecoterrorism’ is the only way to get one’s point across (and unfortunately, it often is – noöne remembers consolidated, but it’s hard to forget a bomb), then, well, they can do what they have to do. god knows the government does, and with far less justification. as for ads that are ‘demeaning to women’, as i recall, all the women in those ads CHOSE TO BE IN THEM. what’s more demeaning, showing a fair chunk ov your body, or beïng told you don’t have the right to make that choice?

    • Jane says:

Really? You think a bomb is the best way to get your point across because it’s hard to forget one? Remind me never to fly on an airplane with you, psycho.

  13. Jeff says:

I think a lot of you missed the point of the graph and are reading too much into it. It’s comedy. Who cares if a isn’t mathematically accurate, politically correct, 100% accurate or if a pie graph wasn’t the best choice? It’s funny as hell.

  14. Jackson says:

Wait, since when was this a website for your own opinions? I thought it was about pop-culture. This graph epic-fails.

    • mAlise says:

i concur, and i wish i’d thought to simply say that, instead ov pissing off some woman who likes aeroplanes (though apparently not with me in).

      • Jane says:

Furthermore, you didn’t piss me off, as you put it. You’re the one who said you thought ecoterrorism was justified because people remember bombs. I was making the point that terrorism is terrorism and anyone who engages in it believes their cause is justified and your kind of thinking is no different then people who blow up airplanes or crash them into buildings. Psycho.

    • Jane says:

It’s a public website for people to create graphs on whatever they feel like. If you don’t like the graph no one is making you look at and comment on it, just ignore it if it bothers you. Even the graphs on pop culture reflects the opinion of the person who made the graph, which may or may not be the same opinion as yours. Because of the involvement of celebraties, PETA has become somewhat pop-culture, and obviously a lot of people thought this was funny, just because you didn’t doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be up here.

  15. joe says:

what’s more humiliating than being brutally ripped from the ground, sliced/torn/shredded/julienned, and then doused in vinegar and oil?

‘when something eats, something else dies’ – george carlin rip

    • david says:

yeah, they essentially do that, and worse, to animals for fur and testing. if you’ve seen it then you’d know that it is clearly wrong. the only evil thing in the world is cruelty, and there are no exceptions for inter-species cruelty.

i’ve now commented 3 times on this, and i feel i need to point out that i’m not a member of peta, i’ve never donated to them, i eat meat, and most importantly i find cruelty of any kind unacceptable. eating meat is useful, and necessary for some, so by all means eat it. just recognize that an animal died so you can continue to live. be grateful to them, and don’t abuse them. fur and testing especially are abuses to animals.

  16. Misha says:

People Engaging in Terrorist Activity? Or is it People Euthanizing Thousands of Animals? All of the above?

  17. Lu Lu says:

Doesnt anyone remember the mink fiasco? all those poor little domesticated mink, let free right next to a highway…little more planning needs to go on…

  18. JM says:

    LOVE THIS GRAPH!

And I effing c**ting HATE damn PETA. They’re like Fundamentalists or extremist Islams–somewhere lost deep in the shuffle their original intentions were good, but they’ve done so much stupid effing crap that they deserving to go to hell. Tw*ting d*ckhead PETA.
