What about ‘blasting off again…’ ???
Lol, glad VGCats was credited, or I would have called on the similarities.
Can’t tell you how much that made a 36 SAHM laugh. My stepson was a Pokemon Freak 10 years ago and I have seen/heard/wasted TONS of money on Pokemon crap!! He has since gotten rid of his cards by giving them to other youngsters, but did NOT let go of his gold foil Charizard and I saw it in his drawer the other day.
In an episode in the 5th season where Lance is revealed to be a Pokemon-G man and captured the red Gyrados, I was shocked to realize that despite all of the heavy armor, Team Rocket DID NOT HAVE ANY GUNS. Do guns not exist in Johto?
I think there was an issue with showing guns in what america had already determined was a show ‘for kids’ so episodes involving guns were cut. This explains the absence of a satisfying Safari Zone episode in the first season, because originally the Warden had a gun he used to threaten Team Rocket. Also, I loved this VGcats episode, seriously, it’s been 10 years and they haven’t been bothered to just train some pokemon better? I personally think Gary is in fact the better trainer, Ash is too whiny (No I don’t watch Pokemon anymore, I only saw the first season and part of the second before getting bored).
The Safari Zone episode was going to air after Columbine, so it was determined to be in bad taste with the pointing of guns at people.
Ash isn’t as whiny now, although he can be if the current girl (Dawn, I think, I haven’t watched in Sinnoh, although I play the games) wants to enter a contest before his gym battles. (I’ve seen short clips. I also watched in Hoenn for May’s contests, those were fun to watch.)
But yeah. Guns are out in Pokemon. For the reason stated by nupanick. A gun was pointed into Ash’s face in that episode.
Also, Johto was the best. I’m still waiting for a game remake of G/S/C.
Guns would probably exist in Johto, though. If they were allowed in the show any more.
And blasting off again should have been in.
Oh my god..
Wow…
