How to Make Graphs
Tips on how to make graphs:
- Pick a topic to visualize
Something in the news, or on the mind of the public conscience. Or you can try a classic. Pick an item from the topic that can be explained visually. - Graph it
Option A: Pick from the following graph templates. (Right-click, Save As)- All of the below in a ZIP file
- Venn Diagram (two circles) – Excel
- Venn Diagram (three circles) – Excel
- Bar Graph (Horizontal bars) – Excel
- Bar Graph (Vertical bars) – Excel
- Calendar – Excel (Or send us a screenshot from your favorite calendar app)
- Line Graph – Excel
- Pie Chart – Excel
- Flow Chart – Visio
Option B: On Google Docs, You can create the simples ones like bars, lines, or pie charts.
- Click New > Spreadsheet to start a new chart.
- Enter the values for the chart
- Highlight the cells and click on the Chart button:
- Select the type, give it a title, and save the document.
- To submit it, click on the Share tab and invite us at graphjam@gmail.com
- Or get creative using Office, Visio or other tools and email it to us.

I’m having a problem submitting. I have emailed graphs before to the requested address but they never seem to show up in the voting bin. Is there a long cue or am I submitting the file wrong?
Call me an asshole but I have been looking at site this for a while now… I submtted my first graph and it’s on the voting page (doing pretty well I might add). How do graphs go from voting to the actual pagge? Mine’s actually worth it (yes,yes it really is) but I’ve ever submitted before & I can’t quite seem to figure out how this works. Did I miss an “about” or “how to” ssection somewhere? I swear I looked everywhere. C’mon I didn’t waste your time with a shitty graph like so many others do. For god sake I know how excel charts work….

I can’t send my submissions through Excel beacuse I don’t have Outlook set up. Can I send my submissions as attachments using my Hotmail account?

Is there a very long queue for graph submissions?
Mine hasn’t appeared after about 5 days and I notice someone else has done exactly the same thing I did (although rubblishly, using a rubbish donut graph, which looks rubbish – *FAIL*).
There is a queue… the union employees are not happy with forced overtime. Therefore we will process the queue as quickly as the DMV.
Sorry. If you are seeing someone else doing the same graph, chances are it was sent it before yours. Great employees, uh, procrastinate alike?
Everything in the “Download These Excel Templates” box/area is all broken / FUBAR! OR… My otherwise perfect computer, network and brain suddenly became moronic ONLY when dealing with those linky thingies. And I had a really neato Venn Diagram idea thought! HALP!
I was just able to download both those files… did you try the ZIP file or right-clicking on them?
if i see a graph on the votes page that i submitted a day after a different graph that is not on the votes page, does that mean the first graph didn’t make the cut?
I am curious, do all submissions make the vote page, or do you guys filter them?

For the life of me I can’t figure out how to get from a graph on the voting page back to the original page. I don’t see any other options for leaving a comment (the search engine has found any oft the graphs I’ve looked for.) It’s probably staring me right int he face….

I sent one graph and got an automatic reply saying it was received. I sent 2 more and got no email response. Does that mean they didn’t go through, or is the email auto-reply shut off now?
One graph I submitted exactly two weeks ago just showed up today, though the first one I submitted showed up like three days later… so I guess you never know.
The question is, how long until they’re actually put on the main page? The first one I submitted has voting at 129 and 30 (or 81.1% positive), but now it’s on page 42 of the voting pages. I feel like that has to be enough to move it to the big show, but I don’t know when that would possibly be.
I had a graph on the voting page that was doing rather well (91-3), and it suddenly disappeared. Is there some common explanation for this? The first graph I made is weak and it’s still up for voting……

Ughm, my kitteh Yoshi just made her first graph and she even used spellcheck, so if you guys dont post it up for voting soon she will be really really upset, no telling what she might do! For the sake of my new leather couches, please for the love of all things Holy post her graph!!!
